Inaugural Lanka Impact Investment Summit 2026 Kicks Off
Sri Lanka hosted the inaugural Lanka Impact Investment Summit 2026 (LIIS) in Colombo, convening over 200 local and international delegates to position the country as a regional hub for impact investing in South Asia. Organized by LIIN and the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment Sri Lanka, the summit focused on mobilizing private capital to address structural financing gaps affecting SMEs, climate initiatives, and women-led enterprises. Amid high borrowing costs and limited non-bank financing channels, discussions highlighted the need for "Entrepreneur Transformation" and scalable, equity-style funding solutions. The event also marked plans to launch Sri Lanka's first $5 Million Impact Enterprise Fund with UNDP support, targeting underserved SMEs, while advancing a broader declaration to strengthen inclusive and sustainable investment across the region.
