Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) recently embarked on a groundbreaking project titled "Growth, Resilience, Investment and Training (GRIT) - Building a Gender-Responsive Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Sri Lanka’s North" funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented in collaboration with the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), the GRIT project aims to foster a gender-responsive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sri Lanka's Northern Province.
We are thrilled to share that LIIN played a key role in two major launch events in Colombo and Jaffna, marking the start of this transformative journey. These events united a dynamic group of women entrepreneurs, ecosystem stakeholders, incubators, accelerators, and business development mentors, setting the stage for an exciting future.
The GRIT project is a six-year collaborative initiative dedicated to creating sustainable pathways for socioeconomic empowerment and inclusive growth in Sri Lanka, with a special emphasis on young women in the Northern region. By cultivating a supportive and gender-responsive entrepreneurial ecosystem, this project aims to empower women entrepreneurs, enabling them achieve their business aspirations and make significant contributions to the local economy.
In collaboration with the Criterion Institute, DMZ, Yarl IT Hub, and Hatch, and with the unwavering support of Global Affairs Canada, LIIN is dedicated to fostering innovation, developing skills, and providing impact investment opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka's Northern Region. The highlight of these events was the showcase of innovative products by LIIN-supported women-led entrepreneurs, demonstrating their innovation, resilience, and potential to drive economic growth. These events not only introduced the GRIT project but also about igniting opportunities and shaping a brighter future for women entrepreneurs in the Northern Region.
Stay tuned for exciting updates on the GRIT project and join us in our mission to build a more sustainable and thriving entrepreneurial landscape in Sri Lanka's Northern Region.
